100 Days of Solitude – Day 6

She felt heavy, as if layers of some unknown residue were accumulating in her veins, blocking the flow to her heart, something that can’t be washed away by any amount of rain or tears.

Standing before the mirror, she couldn’t recognize herself anymore. Who am I? why is everybody gone? Why would I expect them to stay?

And then she knew exactly what she needed, for it was the first time she looked it in the eye. Hard as it was, she knew she had to admit it.She needed to rain to cleanse her, no tears to vent it out, for she had already done that before.

Now that the rain stopped and her tears dried up, she was left with one choice.

Change.
